P&O Staff got on their bikes for charity!

DeSigns lent their support to P&O Ferries’ fundraising activity for breast cancer charities by supplying a large eye-catching banner to help encourage donations.

Colleagues from P&O Ferries embarked on the charity bikeathon looking to cover the equivalent 200 mile distance from Hull to Rotterdam in just 15 hours on a stationary bike fitted to a rolling road. Commencing at 6am on Friday 29th October in Terminal 1 of King George Dock, a total of 23 people including BBC Radio Humberside’s Andy Comfort gave their blood, sweat and almost some tears to raise in excess of £2,000 for breast cancer charities.

Gary Vieten, DeSigns operations director, said: “We have long held a good relationship with P&O after providing much of the signage within the passenger terminals and when they approached us to ask if we would donate a large banner bespoke to this event we were more than happy to. Breast cancer is such an emotive issue for many people and we were delighted to assist the fundraising activity for such a worthy cause”

Andy Faichney, P&O Ferries (Hull) Customer Operations Support Manager said: “We are extremely grateful for the support of DeSigns in getting the message across to the travelling public with their eye-catching banner, which was crucial in generating the amount of interest and donations from the people passing through the passenger terminal building”.

UPDATE: We would just like to advise that the final total of money raised for breast cancer charities is:
